On November 2nd, we officially launched the Canadian Youth for COP30 campaign at EcoFair Toronto 2025, a community-driven event in Toronto. This initiative seeks to generate discussion with Canadian youth in the lead-up to COP30.

What is COP30?

COP30 stands for the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). This year, COP30 will take place in Belém, Brazil from November 10–21, 2025.

COP is the world’s largest annual climate conference with representatives from 190+ countries, including world leaders, scientists, youth delegates, and civil society gathering to discuss and negotiate plans to combat climate change.

Why Canadian Youth for COP30?

Countries only send small delegations to COP30, so the delegates that do attend have an obligation to represent the voices of those back home. This campaign seeks to gather messages from young Canadians with the tagline: “At COP30, I want world leaders to …” You can also submit a different message with an optional photo or short video submission. All of these messages have the option of being shared on our Live Social Wall, so everyone can feel the pulse of Canada’s youth.

The Launch

At the campaign launch inside EcoFair, the atmosphere was hopping with colourful posters, friendly volunteers, sustainable snacks and lots of visitors. Some of the highlights were:

  • In-person message station: Youth and families stopped by to take photos/videos.
  • Interactive display: A digital social wall wall on-site showed live #CanadianYouthForCOP30 posts coming in, turning their voices into a visible mosaic.
  • Meet & greet with Canadian Youth Delegate Lucas Allen.

A big thank-you

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our launch at EcoFair! A special thanks to our volunteers, organizers and partners who helped make the launch so amazing. We look forward to collecting and sharing many more youth voices in the coming weeks, and taking them to COP30.
